Board,
This fortnight closed the vendor path, put a working product mock in front of us, and opened a serious Italy capital-and-operator room. Below is standing as of 16 September — what we locked, what we learned, and what we do next.
Vendors closed — including telemedicine
Vendor selection is finished, telemedicine included. We can proceed on the operating stack we chose.
At the same time, it is clear we will need to build our own telemedicine service soon. The gap in the market is real — and owning that layer is becoming a strategic requirement, not a nice-to-have.
Italy room — capital, operators, follow-ups
I had the opportunity to present Wanted Fertility at a major Italy gathering (WAVE / Sphinx Club), in front of an important audience. Approximate enterprise value in the room: about $3.5 billion. I was the only company that stood up to tell a starting-stage initiative story — the rest of the room was already large operators and entrepreneurs.
There was also a strong, beautiful intervention from Oscar Farinetti (Eataly / Fontanafredda), including presentation of his book. He is a personal friend of the initiative’s creator. For me the night was clearly positive: it opened several follow-up appointments, and it showed what raises antennas with this audience of operators and investors.
Named operators and groups in the room (indicative turnover where noted):
- Elena Abbattista — Abbattista S.p.A. · ~€200M
- Arredissima · ~€200M · (principal name to confirm)
- Filippo Buelli — insurance group · ~€400M · ~1,400 agents in Italy (Generali-linked network)
- Enrico Caporin — managing partner, Three Dots and related funds
- Marco Bello — business counsel
- Silvana Cozza — Adventure · >€200M
- Retelit · ~€500M
- Oscar Farinetti — Eataly and Fontanafredda · Eataly >€1.1B
- Plus seven investment funds and additional sector operators
We are now structuring those follow-up meetings to go deeper. Several parties showed strong interest in bringing the product into Italy — a direction worth working deliberately.
Capital process: as conversations warm, I will schedule time with Ricker so deck and model stay aligned with what this room is actually responding to.
Product mock — services inside the algorithm
The application is structured as a mock so we can see how specific services integrate into the existing algorithm — for example blood work flowing into the product path — before we wire live vendor contracts end to end.
We have received video from Nicole and from Dr. Gadir to assemble into the homepage film that shows how the app works. Content refresh for the next launch wave is underway; that launch is the focus of phase two — conversion at real scale.
Next operating steps
- Service integration — wire selected services into the live path (Mattia).
- Navigability and simplicity — few graphic evolutions at first; optimize what we have, then add a small set of elements that make the experience unmistakably simple.
- PDF drag-in — let the user drop existing PDF files so we can pull data and fill the related fields.
- Telemedicine connection — attach telemedicine so users can actually use the clinical conversation layer we are building toward.
Two legal checks (open)
We need counsel on two structures before we productize either:
- Unpaid, no-panel conversation: if a doctor speaks with a person, is not paid, does not take them into care, does not bill insurance, and does not charge in any way — may that doctor still offer suggestions and direction freely? We need a clear yes/no and any constraints.
- Paid consult wrapper: if users pay Wanted Fertility for an add-on consult service, can the company collect that fee while the physician is not “taking the patient into care” in the clinical sense (consult activity, not panel care)? Again — open to counsel; nothing is assumed legal until they say so.
This fortnight
- Hold the vendor stack we locked; start the build path for owned telemedicine.
- Schedule Italy follow-ups; keep Ricker in the loop as meetings warm.
- Assemble Nicole + Dr. Gadir homepage film; advance phase-two conversion content.
- Mattia: integration, simplicity passes, PDF ingest, telemedicine hook.
- Counsel: answer the two legal checks before we ship either consult model.
